Ice and Sun: A Photography Tour in Japan's Far North

“Once in his life a man ought to concentrate his mind upon the remembered earth. He ought to give himself up to a particular landscape in his experience; to look at it from as many angles as he can, to wonder upon it, to dwell upon it. He ought to imagine that he touches it with his hands at every season and listens to the sounds that are made upon it. He ought to imagine the creatures there and all the faintest motions of the wind. He ought to recollect the glare of the moon and the colors of the dawn and dusk.” – Barry Lopez, Arctic Dreams

Asia Art Tours is proud to present Photography In Japan’s Far North “Hokkaido”. With Hokkaido resident and master photographer Daisuke we will be taking you to Hokkaido’s most beautiful landscapes and moments, including the famed “dance of the cranes”.

Important Note

The weather from Siberia is pretty severe, particularly the north-western coast where we will be spending the most of our time. Therefore there is a very good chance that we find ourselves snowed-in at the hotel on occasion. We will handle this as much as possible, however we need to remain flexible. Those same weather fronts keep this land unique. We need a spirit of adventure and a good sense of humour for participants of this tour.
